The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department has installed over 500 bird-nest boxes in 23 Country Parks all over Hong Kong, to attract birds using them for nesting and breeding during the breeding season. Nest boxes of different size and shape are hung on trees to attract different birds to make use of. In the nest box survey conducted on 2000, we recorded the Great Tit, Magpie Robin and Collared Scops Owl. For the first lot of nest boxes installed, 20% of the 250 nest boxes were found used as nesting and breeding place.
