Brief
Introduction
Unlike
Japan and Taiwan, butterflies have
never aroused great interest in Hong
Kong. In the past, it is largely the
domain of a handful of collectors aiming
for their own collections or for scientific
purposes. Conservation is somewhat
a new concept for Hong Kong residents
who are now more concerned about their
well being besides the nere economical
success of Hong Kong. Today, despite
rapid urbanization, nature conservation
in general is better appreciated and
is being carefully considered in all
facets of life.
