Brief
Introduction
Majorities
of the Hong Kong Macaques are commonly
found in Kam Shan and Lion Rock Country
Parks. You might have seen them when
you visited these Country Parks. Rhesus
macaques in the Kowloon Hills area
were not descendents of the origional
wild stock but released during the
First World War time. The release was
related to the construction work of
the Kowloon Reservoir, which was completed
in 1913.
