Complementing the concept of liberal studies, Nature Appreciation - Dialogue is an extracurricular reading material for the studies of the environment and sustainable development. This book focuses on Hong Kong’s countryside, its facilities and outdoor activities, with highlights on situations and topical issues related to nature appreciation. Interest is stimulated in these green issues which are closely correlated with environmental conservation and daily life. Presenting a series of discussion topics with brief introductory notes, the book aims to motivate students to seek further information for more in-depth studies. Included in each topic are key discussion points but no standard answers are given. This allows more room for reflection so students can use extensive evidences to arrive at an informed personal viewpoint. This section also encourages exchange between teachers and students so they can examine things from various perspectives, draw on collective wisdom, and broaden their horizons.
