Tombolo, an once mobile structure

Tombolo, an once mobile structure

Tombolo, an once mobile structure - If you look back to Yim Tin Tsai, you can see sandy deposits connecting Ma Shi Chau and Yim Tin Tsai. This geological feature is called a Tombolo and is formed when sediment deposits built up and join from one island to another.

The formation of this tombolo to link up Ma Shi Chau and Yim Tin Tsai was rather recent, do you know how this tombolo was formed and from which side the deposits of this tombolo originally came from?
